Q&A with Soundhariya Manohar, Software Engineer
In honor of Women's History Month, we're commemorating by engaging our team in meaningful reflection. Today, we're delighted to share insights from Soundhariya Manohar, our Software Engineer, through a brief Q&A session.
What was your dream job as a child and why?
I always wanted to become a dancer. I am fortunate to have had extensive dance lessons for significant portion of my childhood. I went through all the efforts for the love of art.
What was your first job in the industry?
I was a hardware engineer for a little over 3 years before I came to Celebrus.
What is/are your motivation factors?
I often find myself getting out of my comfort zone just so that I can push myself to conquer challenging tasks. I find that particularly exhilarating.
Everyone faces obstacles. What have you considered as the biggest obstacle in your career?
Switching domains from hardware to software proved quite challenging. However, I trusted myself to give all I have and then some to anything that was assigned to me.
Have you drawn professional inspiration from other women? Tell us about someone who has inspired you.
My mother always had entrepreneurial acumen, and the inspiration came from her when I worked with her businesses, and she taught me how to never give up. All that trust I have in myself is thanks to her.
What do you think is the most significant barrier to female empowerment?
The stereotype of an assumed role women must play in their life to achieve their (misinterpreted) dreams. All we need is to break stereotypes and women empowerment will skyrocket.
What do you think are the benefits of having empowered women in the organization?
Empowered women have the power to bring safety and security to the workplace. It makes the society a better place because it helps to break the stereotype of inequality.
